PINHOLE GUM REJUVENATION ™
PROCEDURE FOR RECEDING GUMS
Pinhole gum rejuvenation procedure is a breakthrough treatment for receding gums. Gum recession occurs for a variety of reasons and is identified when the gum tissue surrounding the teeth begins to pull away and expose the upper portion of the tooth and sometimes even the tooth’s root. Receding gums are a fairly common occurrence and can be associated with gum disease or bacteria that builds up in pockets that develop between the gums and the teeth.

The treatment of receding gums has improved significantly over the years. The Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST®) was invented and patented by John Chao, D.D.S. This procedure is both scalpel-free and suture-free reducing the pain, swelling, and bleeding associated with this minor oral surgery.
The Pinhole Surgical Technique involves using a needle to make a small hole in the gum tissue that is being treated. Once the hole has been made, the gum tissue is then loosened and guided back over the receded part of the tooth using specially designed dental instruments.
